If you're tired of doing your do before work, and then getting to your desk looking like you got dragged through a hedge backwards during your commute, follow these simple tips to keep your tresses as smooth and sleek as possible. Happy hair no matter what the weather!

Get prepped

Tresemme Keratin Smooth £2.49

Opt for a shampoo and conditioner designed to smooth and tame hair before drying. This Tresemme wash is packed full of Keratin, which works hard to add shine, and fight frizz to tired and dry hair without too much effort.

Get oiled up

Got2b Oil-Licious Styling Oil £3.99

Lightly towel dry your locks and then rub through a cherry sized amount of a smoothing hair oil through with finger tips and comb. Avoid the roots, and focus on hair from half way down to the tips to avoid any greasy patches near your parting. Rather than weigh it down, hair oils sit lightly on hair, to keep frizz at bay whilst drying and will have your mane feeling nourished and feather light. Choose one with Argan oil, as it protects hair whilst giving it a gloss.

Finishing touches

Tigi Straighten Out £10.50

Blow dry hair in a downwards motion, then run over with your straighteners until hair is as poker straight or softer as desired. Then squeeze a pea sized blob of serum onto hands and lightly run over the end and front of your do - just a little will fight any flyways and smooth hair completely.

Have a back up plan

Babyliss Nano Straighteners £9.99

If all else fails and your lack of brolly means your hair got rained on and then dried to be a big ball of fuzz - keep a sneaky pair of mini straighteners in your desk drawer! Always there when you need them, they will will be a ice saver before your next big meeting or unexpected drinks on a friday night. Honest - we would be lost without ours!
