The crimp is back! Here's how to master those 80s waves...
They were a smash it in the 80s, made a splash during London Fashion Week and our favourite Love Island hottie Megan Barton-Hanson was showing them off recently which must mean one thing...the crimp has made a comeback!
And celeb hair stylist Evelina Lungdren from top London salon Andrew Jose says it's a trend here to stay.
She says: "Crimped hair first became popular in the eighties and now it’s back and making waves. We’ve just been doing the hair for fashion week and the new Babyliss crimped Wave was seen on many shows.
"The look can be worn up during the day for work in a messy bun and then you can just let it down it the evenings. It’s perfect for the Christmas party season."
So don't be shy, it's time to try out this new trend. Here's how...
The six steps to Megan's dream crimp
Step 1
Wash your hair with Tigi Copyright Volume shampoo and conditioner. Before drying the hair - use Tigi Copyright Volume Lift spray to get texture in the hair. When the hair is dry, prep the hair with Tigi Catwalk Work It hairspray.
Step 2
Take sections of the hair to work with. Start from the back with 1 cm big section of hair and use a Babyliss Crimp Iron.
Step 3
Use the iron all over the hair until it is all crimped.
Step 4
Use the end of a comb to create a zig zag centre parting - this will help the crimp look as full as possible.
Step 5
Spray the hair with Tigi Catwalk dry shampoo to separate the waves. You can create a cool half-up look by taking pieces of hair and twisting the hair to the back. Use hair grips to make it stay.
Step 6
Stop when you have created your perfect half up look. Spray with Tigi Copyright Maximum hold hairspray to finish. Voila!
