Kate Middleton’s hair is celebrated worldwide for its ability to look bouncy, glossy and healthy at every opportunity.
Famed for her love of a bouncy blow dry, the Duchess has shocked fashionistas everywhere by sporting a new hairstyle for AW2015 - cutting in a 60s fringe for the colder months.
Kate has barely changed her hairstyle since she first hit the public eye as Prince William’s girlfriend, favouring simple, long layers in her brunette mane.
But we’re loving the way she’s changed up her look - and here’s how you can do the same.
Ask your hairdresser for a mid-parted style, rather than the more common side sweep.
Then ask your stylist to cut your fringe in at cheekbone level, so that you can still pin back with ease
To achieve the 60s look Kate is channelling, blow dry your hair using a big barrel brush - or cut corners by using a heated styler that combines a blow drier with the large brush.
Try taking the top half of your hair, backcombing at the crown and securing with a large clip or kirby grips to create Kate’s half up/half down style.
Make sure you use plenty of hairspray so that your style holds, and if you need a little extra oomph, try a volume booster like Batiste’s Texturising Spray or eSalon’s Get Lifted to get height.
Lastly, run a little serum or finishing spray over your hair for shine.
We recommend Aussie Dual Personality for Coloured Hair that’s a little damaged after the summer, or if your hair is easily weighed down, us Macademia Professional’s anti-humidity finishing spray - which will keep hair glossy without drowning it in oil.
