What would telly be like without everyone's favourite Chatty Man, Alan Carr? From being a regular judge on RuPaul's Drag Race UK to teaming up with his bestie Amanda Holden in Amanda & Alan's Spanish Job, you're guaranteed to be in fits of giggles when Alan is around. As for his style, Alan has a staple item that reflects his bright and bubbly personality - floral shirts. Think outrageously bold clothes, much like Alison Hammond's wardrobe. And we've found his favourite floral 'fits (and some alternatives).
Not seen Amanda and Alan's show? Basically, this pair of besties renovate run-down properties and learn new DIY skills. In the last series, Amanda and Alan worked with dilapidated homes in Sicily and Tuscany. This time, they're in Spain to help a rundown property in the sun-kissed Andalusia province. Not only do they get practical, but they step in the shoes of a travel programme presenter and show us some of the stunning Costa Del Sol, which is totally making me feel like I'm overdue a holiday. Bring on summer.
Alan is in summer mode 365 days a year, thanks to his summery shirts, which are iconic. Alan and Amanda provide us with plenty of laughs as they tackle an ambitious project in Southern Spain. Transforming a run-down townhouse into a luxury B&B is a mammoth ask, but we're sure they're up to the challenge. If you've been loving Alan's Spanish look, we've found the best Alan floral shirts that scream good weather. Keep them in your wardrobe and break them out for your next summer getaway.

Week One: Coral shirt

We love Alan's first shirt of the programme. It's summery, peachy and totally twee. Unlike Amanda, Alan doesn't credit the brands he uses, so this is a DIY project for Closer. But we think this shirt is the SS Soft Collar Shirt in Coral Texture from Folk Clothing. Unfortunately, this coral pick is almost out of stock, but we've found a brilliant alternative that's perfect for your upcoming spring and summer wardrobe.

This Abercrombie shirt is similar to the Cuban style of Alan's pick from Folk Clothing. It's light, totally laid-back and perfect for the warmer weather.
Week Two: Gucci canvas loafers and more shirts

Episode two sees Amanda and Alan discussing great ideas for the open-plan dining room and foyer. This takes them goodie-hunting in the outskirts of Vejer and the hilltop town of Lanjaronen - how gorgeous? Alan is wearing canvas loafers from Gucci and Paul Smith Iris Print Shirt. Majorly boujie, Alan.
We've found an alternative to his shoes and shirts below.

Can't afford to drop 700 quid on a pair of shoes? No worries. These beige loafers from Dune are a great alternative, with a crossover woven design and a cute little tassel.

We found a pretty good alternative to the mystery silk palm tree shirt worn in episode 2.

We like that this Ted Baker pick has a similar colour scheme to the Paul Smith Iris Shirt.
Week Three: Three jazzy shirts

Alan treated us to a pick from Percival, a brown number from Folk Clothing and a glam (but out of stock) green shirt from ASOS. During this episode, Amanda and Alan transform the kitchen with a bold Spanish design in mind. Will they manage to clear years of clutter? And will Alan stomach their Seville tapas tour when snails are on the menu?

No applique in sight, but this green linen shirt is still so chic. We love a bit of Uniqlo.

We love FOLK Clothing's take on a printed shirt - this design is equal parts whimsy and psychedelic. If it's sold out, why not grab this similar pre-owned brown shirt by Folk on eBay?

OMG - it's here, and it's actually on sale. We're obsessed with Alan's affinity for Cuban styling.
Week Four: More floral shirts

Amanda and Alan tackle the master suite in Episode 4, where they clash over a curved arch and visit Seville’s stunning Plaza de España. To wind down, the besties capsize a kayak in Nerja and dance at Moclin’s flamenco festival. Alan's choices this week are a Reiss McClaren Collab and a Floral Shirt from Wax London, which may be our favourite. Unfortunately, the Wax shirt is totally out of stock - unless it turns up on Vinted soon. We've found a women's version of the Reiss shirt and a few graphic floral options for you.

We found the women's version of Alan's shirt. We think it's rather summery, don't you agree?

We love the colour block florals of this pick from Reiss, which is reminiscent of Alan's shirt.

Lightweight and abstract, we love this Cuban shirt from Reiss, which we can see Alan wearing.
Week Five: Colourful shirts

Week Five of Amanda and Alan's brig project in Spain saw him dressed in a bold multi-check shirt from YMC (which is now out of stock), and two other fabulously colourful numbers that we're still on the hunt for. Alan tackled the challenge of a windowless bathroom, so he and Amanda hit the spa for inspiration and ended up having a foam massage. Much to our enjoyment, the pair later delivered a Kylie-inspired duet on Malaga's karaoke scene. Iconic, if you ask us. Alternatives below.

We think this is a nice alternative to the tropical floral shirt that Alan wore in this episode. Instead, why not try a pre-loved H&M pick with plenty of personality?

Presenting our alternative for the abstract retro beige number from Alan. You can't go wrong with ASOS, tbh. We love the floral pattern and could totally see the Chatty Man sporting this.
Week Six: More jazzy shirts

Alan treated us to three different shirts during this episode. In episode six, Alan struggles to see Amanda’s vision for their courtyard transformation. Expect exhausting construction work, a hilarious attempt at using a cement mixer, and a flamenco lesson. The pair of besties also get to unwind in the stunning Gorafe Desert. L to R: Marni Daisy-Print Shirt, Liberty Anemone Hemp Shirt and Casablanca Cuban Silk Shirt. And we've got some alternatives.

Okay, so it was tricky to find something similar to the Marni Daisy Print Shirt. But we adore this jazzy pre-owned option. It has oranges and blues, which is totally groovy.

Another pre-owned alternative? Yes, it's happening. We love how similar this Hawaiian-style print shirt is to Alan's Artisan Shirt from Liberty. It's got all the right shades of blue.

Alan's pick from Casablanca is so unique in its design that we couldn't find many alternatives. But, if you're looking for the essence, Cuban cut, and silk feel - then this ASOS Citrus Shirt is fab.

Here's a cheeky extra alternative. We couldn't decide between the two, sorry!
Week Eight: Finale fits

Alan and Amanda are almost done with the house. Alan tries making a custom chessboard using an old Spanish woodcraft technique and attends a sherry tasting in Jerez - which is a giggle. In true Barbie and Ken fashion, the pair give roller-skating a go in Malaga and celebrate their finished project with a party. Our two favourite Alan looks are the black floral shirt from Wax London and a roller co-ord from Amazon.
Actual

A groovy outfit to end the season. These co-ords are perf for a Barbie-themed pool party.

You can stream the entire series - and the previous Italian version - via BBC iPlayer. Perfect for a binge.
Does Alan Carr have a podcast?
Who doesn't these days? Just kidding. But, yes, our favourite comedian, Alan Carr, has his own show on the airwaves. It's called "Life's a Beach" (great name), and Alan interviews his famous friends and talks about travel. You can listen on Spotify and Apple Podcasts. It's perfect if you miss Chatty Man. I do 🙋🏼
