Practically everyone dreams of waking up to crisp white snow on Christmas morning.

But it seems as if someone has set our white christmas to overload this year, as forecasters are predicting the worst winter in half-a-century.

Eep.

A combination of freak conditions - including the most powerful El Nino on record and changes in air pressure over the Arctic - are set to cause contribute to the icy conditions.

Think heavy and persistent snowfall, Arctic gales and deep snowdrifts.

Not just for December, either; we could be facing snow from November through to MARCH 2016!

The Met Office forecast up to December said: “Spells of windy or stormy weather are more likely than is usual.”

Meanwhile Ladbrokes have slashed the odds of a white Christmas anywhere in the UK from 5-1 to 2-1.

A spokesman said: “The mercury looks like dropping as fast as the odds in a brutal winter.”
