Brad Arnold had just started singing the band’s hit Citizen Soldier when he stopped and said: ‘hang on hand on, hey woah, woah, woah’ and signalled for his fellow band members to stop playing.

‘Hey homie’ he shouted, ‘You don’t hit a woman. You just pushed a woman out of the way to get into a fight, you d***.’

Brad then tells the man, who he points out in the crowd, to ‘Get the hell out of here,’ before repeating ‘F*** you man, you don’t hit a woman.’

3 Doors Down were playing in Broomfield, Colorado when the incident took place last week, and captured on video by a fan.

Chris Henderson, the guitarist in the band, said that the man had been trying to fight someone else in the crowd and had pushed the woman in-between them.

The musician added it was the first time in fifteen years that Brad had stopped a show due to fan violence.

He said he posted the video online because it showed ‘chivalry at its best.’
