She screams: “Move back! Otherwise I’m taking it away!”

Unfortunately her warnings fall on deaf ears, with mass fights erupting as soon as the meat is put on offer.

The damning clip was posted on Facebook, and has since been shared over 3,000 times.

While some viewers commented that the scrabbling customers must be extremely hard up, others criticised them for ‘fighting like dogs’.

One wrote: “None of these people actually look starving! We all like a bargain, but this is like a feeding party at the shark pool. I don’t fancy being the member of staff putting the discounted food out. You risk your life; well nearly.”

A spokesperson for Tesco told the Guardian: “The safety of our customers and colleagues is of paramount importance to us. The manager of the store has conducted a thorough investigation and will take steps to prevent a similar situation happening again.”
