Ah, chickens. They’re one of the most common and widespread domestic animals, they spend the majority of their time laying eggs.

However, there are SOME exceptions…

A video has been released of a little boy sharing a hug with his extra-special best friend.

Only his best friend is (yup, you guessed it!) a chicken.

Who knew chickens could be so loving? At first, the chicken sees the young boy, Mason and runs over to him. But straight away, she notices he’s got a new haircut and seems hesitant.

After inspecting him for a few seconds, and a few hesitant pecks, she soon realises that it IS her bff.

And, within a few moments, they’re sharing the sort of hug that makes our hearts melt.

Surprisingly, this display of affection seems to make the nearby roosters jealous, as they are seen standing and watching.

Mason, however, isn’t bothered by the stares; instead he leans his neck into the chicken’s, hugging her tightly and stroking her whilst smiling.

N’aw!

It’s no secret that chickens are smart. But as this shows, they’re clearly loving as well.
