The life-threatening illness has sadly stopped her from being able to walk or talk. But her dad doesn’t let this stop her from doing the things any other little girl would do, including featuring in pageants.

McKenzie’s mother says that she and her dad have ‘become her voice and legs’. This video proves just how much they will not let McKenzie’s disease get in her way.

The emotional clip shows her father performing in the pageant alongside his daughter and, despite being a fully-grown man, he is not bothered in the slightest about dancing to a Miley Cyrus ballad.

We’re sure the look on McKenzie’s face towards the end makes it all worth it for her amazing dad.

While there is no known cure for Mitochondrial disease, McKenzie is responding well to different types of therapies. If you would like to donate to McKenzie’s cause and help towards the costs of the very expensive treatment, visit her GoFundMe page.
