27-year old Ashley Clawson was forced to feed her crying son in an alleyway after staff refused to allow her to breastfeed her son in the store.

The refusal came after the mum of 2 had spent over $150 in the Austin, Texas branch of the underwear chain.

Ashley told a local radio station: 'I was humiliated by the whole thing. I immediately called my husband.'

Under Texas law mothers are allowed to breastfeed in any location and Victoria's Secret policy permits nursing, but Ashley was surprised when sales staff wouldn’t allow her to feed her son in one of the shop’s fitting rooms.

Ashley shared her experience on Facebook and garnered a massive amount of support following the incident.

She has since filed two complaints with the lingerie brand and has been told that she will receive a response from them in the mail.

The young mum now has a different view of the popular brand, which features models such as Miranda Kerr in their campaigns.

She said: ‘The posters and everything are just women showing their breasts and obviously to Victoria's Secret in my eyes, it's looked at as a play toy. Not necessarily, means for you know nursing your child, which is why we have breasts to begin with.’
