The Bank Holiday Weekend is FINALLY upon us - but has anyone notified summer?
After all, we’re expecting big things from our last few days of August; it’s been a bit of a washout so far.
Speaking with Closer Online, Chris Burton, Meteorologist at The Weather Network, explained that, while there will be some sunny spells on Saturday, it’s all about those scattered showers.
He said: “it’s sunny spells and scattered showers through Saturday, these heaviest and most frequent across west Wales, north-west England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
“It will stay largely dry in the central, southern and eastern England but cloud and rain will try to edge in to south-west England later.”
He added: “Temperatures will range from 15-16C in the north-west to 19-20C in the south-east.”
But what about Sunday and Monday, Chris? Is it good news there?
Well, speaking about the Sunday, he said: “It’ll be largely cloudy across southern and central England and much of Wales with pulses of rain pushing up from the south-west, some of which could be heavy at times.”
And, for those heading to Carnival on Bank Holiday Monday, he added: “Any early cloud and rain should soon clear to leave a much drier
and brighter day with sunny spells.
“There is the risk of one or two showers but it should be a much drier day compared to Sunday.”
So, in short, it’s going to be another unpredictable weekend.
We suggest layers - and a mini umbrella.
