We may have had an utterly dismal summer, but it seems as if September is planning on going out with a bang.

Yup, this weekend is looking like it’s going to be the kind of truly beautiful, crisp Autumnal day we’ve all been dreaming of.

Yay!

Richard Chapman, spokesman for The Weather Network, told Closer Online that weekenders can expect plenty of sunshine - and barely a drop of rain in sight.

He explained: "If you're planning on being out tonight [Friday] make sure you wrap up warm. Campers be particularly aware because a ground frost is likely in central parts of Wales as well as central and southern England.

“Skies will be clear overall and there will be some mist and fog patches developing too. Cloudier skies in Scotland and perhaps northwest England. Lows at 1 to 7C, this is low enough for a touch of ground frost in the southern half of the UK.

"Those mist and fog patches around on Saturday morning, but clearing fairly quickly. Once they have gone it should be a fair day for most with good spells of sunshine. Bits and pieces of cloud will develop, but generally a fair day is on the cards for most of us.”

He went on to forecast some strong breezes across the country n Sunday, but promised plenty more sunshine and, again, lovely dry weather.

Looks like we can pack our wells and anoraks away for a few days, eh?
