It’s official; Wednesday 15th April is going to be the hottest day of 2015 so far, with parts of the UK expected to see highs of up to 25C.
That's right; forecasters are predicting temperatures will be DOUBLE the average of 11.4C for the UK and 12.5C for England and balmy conditions are set to continue throughout the week.
A spokesperson for the Met Office said: “On Wednesday, twenty-five is definitely a possibility in London and places near north-east London, making it the hottest day of the year.”
Yup, that’s hotter than some parts Greece, Italy, and even Hawaii.
However we doubt our overseas friends will be flocking to the UK to top up on their tans, as our mini-heatwave isn’t expected to last for very long.
Sigh.
Meteogroup forecaster Laura Caldwell told The Mirror: "The cooler air in the north will spread down through Thursday and it will feel generally cooler into Friday and Saturday.
"We are likely to go from highs of 25C tomorrow to around 16C (60.8F) or 17C (62.6F) on Thursday."
Brrr! We guess we’d better keep our winter jackets out a little while longer then…
