Twin girls, born in Aldershot, England in 1936, were tragically split up when their mother - who worked as a servant - found herself unable to care for both of them.

After being abandoned by the babies' father, the mother made the painful decision to give one of her children up, giving Ann up for adoption, and keeping Elizabeth.

Ann remained in England, unaware that she had a twin sister. But Elizabeth, who was raised by her biological mother, met an American man and eventually moved the west coast of the U.S., raising two children there.

She on the other hand, knew of the existence of her sister somewhere out there, and one day decided to track her down.

With Elizabeth's daughter Stacey writing a letter to Ann, the two made contact - speaking on Skype regularly.

But they soon realised, this wasn't enough, they wanted to look each other in the eyes and have a hug. They were reunited for the first time in 78 years, with one of them saying 'how lovely to see you in the flesh.'
