The Times made the claims that this morning's toxicology report will reveal that the mother of two died from a drug overdose at the age of 25.
Peaches was found dead on April 7 at her home in Faversham, Kent, next to her 11-month-old son Phaedra.
And although allegedly no drug paraphanaelia was found at the scene, the Times report also suggested this may have been cleared before authorities arrived.
Paula Yates, Peaches’ mother, died of a heroin overdose in 2000 when the star was just 11. In a tragic coincidence, Paula was also alone when she died, save for her 4-year-old daughter Tiger Lily, who was playing near-by.
Mum-of-two Peaches, 25, posted a photo of herself as a baby with Paula just hours before her death.
The funeral service for Peaches was held last Monday at St Mary Magdalene and St Lawrence church in Kent. Paula and Peaches’ father Bob married in the church, as did Peaches and husband Thomas Cohen. It is also the church where Paula’s funeral was held.
While a spokesperson for Kent Police declined to confirm or deny the reports, they told a UK newspaper: “The inquest opens later today and that is all I can say.”
The initial hearing today is expected to last just 10 minutes, after which time it will be adjourned until a later date.
