The #KylieJennerChallenge involves the participants attempting to achieve the 17-year-old’s famous pout – with dangerous methods.

In order to ‘get the look’, the teens place their lips into the opening of glass or bottle and suck in the air.

This causes their lips to swell up and, in most cases, gives the impression of an allergic reaction, rather than the plumpness of Kylie’s lips.

Despite this hundreds of people have posted their ‘Kylie’ lips on Twitter and Instagram – even those who realised it didn’t quite work.

It seems young people are desperate to imitate the youngest Kardashian-Jenner that they’re willing to possibly cause themselves damage.

According to reports, by sucking their lips into their chosen vacuum, the teens are risking burst blood vessels and blown up lips that last a lot longer than expected.

Two sisters from Iceland were the some of the first to attempt the ‘challenge’. Last month they tried to achieve the look with a deodorant lid, and one of them has since warned against it.

Yrja As wrote on Facebook: “I wanted to warn people against do-it-yourself lip expansion, but was really surprised and shocked that it ended up being something that loads of people were copying.

“I just wanted to try it and see what they would look like, I’ve never done it before, and I won’t be doing it again. It was very, very painful. My lips turned blue.”
