Talk about a selfie fail…

This man was taking a walk in the woods one day when he stumbled across a cute little grey squirrel. And because these days, nothing actually happened until you have a selfie to prove it, the man leaned in to get a snap with the fluffy animal.

The man poses with the squirrel

But the unnamed photographer said the squirrel was less than pleased with having his snap taken without asking - attempting to grab the camera out of his hand.

'When I got close enough, the squirrel actually tried grabbing my phone. I shook it off then snapped this photo.'

But it appears squirrels are indeed vengeful creatures, and as the man walked away (no doubt picking an appropriate Instagram filter for the snap), the animal launched at him.

A moment later...the squirrel attacks

Next thing I knew, the squirrel was on my shoulder, then under my shirt, and then hanging off my back!' he said.

'This photo is courtesy of my mom, who collapsed laughing shortly after.'

Luckily for the Tampa, Florida resident, no rabies injection was required, despite him calling the reddit post: 'Went in for the selfie, got a rabies shot.'
