The badges- designed by Wayward Studio, captioned with "I'm hungover" and "I'm important" have sparked concern amongst expectant mothers, wearing the "Baby on Board'" badges to secure seats.

‘These badges could take away the impact of what the baby on board badge stands for,’ Laura Petts, who is seven months pregnant, told Yahoo.

She added: ‘It’s not something I wear for fun. Sometimes it can be hard enough to get a seat on the tube, especially in rush hour, without novelty badges making it seem like a joke accessory to wear.’

But Adam Armitage from Wayward Studio told Huff Post the badges weren’t meant to be an attempt to steal seats from pregnant women.

He said:

‘This badge series is totally tongue in cheek and meant to be taken as a comment on our need to express our wishes without vocalising them. I believe that’s called British stiff upper lip!

"If anyone is wearing this badge in a legitimate attempt to steal a seat from a pregnant women then I would be very surprised. They obviously do not understand this humour,’ he added.

"There is nothing stopping pregnant ladies from wearing these parodies as well though. Who knows, perhaps it may even get people talking again!"
