Olivia Glennie, 15, had not let onto family that she was feeling depressed before her death.

Her father Alex Glennie, said that the pressures of 24-hour communication by the various means of Facebook, text and internet meant that teenagers are now experiencing 'too much, too young.'

Olivia hanged herself in woodland and was found by a dog walker. She was resuscitated but died in hospital five days later.

A talented and popular student, Olivia seemed happy to her friends and family but was apparently hiding insecurities.

Her father, 51, said: 'I can't say what was going through her mind, I don't think anybody in this world can.'

'With the internet and mobile phones and Facebook, I think they are getting too much, too young. It's a cultural change.'

'Children are growing up so quickly. They have a lot of pressures, these 21st-century pressures.'

Olivia was 6ft 1 but apparently had insecurities about teenage acne. Despite this, her father said heartbreakingly: 'I have photographs of her with no makeup on and she still looks beautiful.'

Olivia had apparently split from her on-off boyfriend before her death and fallen out with a close friend. Other friends of the teenager said they had no reason to suspect she was suicidal.
