Terry Lynn, a photographer and animal activist, posted the shocking discovery she made online after responding to a call from a truck driver.
Sharing her anger over the shocking incident which took place in Oklahoma, she wrote:
"Today, I came upon something that makes me know with all my heart that if I ever come face to face with the POS that did this, there is no telling what might happen....
"This morning, I received a call from a truck driver that stopped at a truck stop 7 miles from here... As he pulled in, he saw what he thought was a dead pitty laying in the parking lot.... as he walked past, he saw she was still breathing... he went to her and her eyes looked up at him.
"She was unable to move, but her eyes pleaded for help…"
Heartbreakingly, despite everything , the dog still mustered the energy to greet Terry with a tail wag.
"I went to check on her... she was laying in the parking lot, on the hot pavement, unable to move... the look in her eyes as I kneeled down and spoke to her brought me to tears... As I spoke, her tail wagged....
"I called my vet and had them on standby and called for help to load her and get her to my vet," Terry continued.
Horrifically, the dog appeared to have been used as a fight dog, and then dumped and left to die when she was too injured 'to be of use'.
"This innocent sweet girl is COVERED in bite marks... tons of them all over her face, throat, legs, shoulder and chest... It appears someone threw her out there and left her to die in the heat...even as we rolled her over on the blanket to left her, her tail wagged…"
Even more shockingly, the vet later discovered she had given birth to a litter of puppies very recently.
Despite Terry's best efforts, "Momma gir|" also known as "Truck stop dog" passed a way a few weeks later, despite making a vast improvement.
Sadly British rescuer Kim Buttice told Closer that this is not an unusual occurrence. Founder of 'Jacob's Pound Dogs', she pulls abandoned dogs that would usually be euthanised within 7 days from the 'death row' pound.
Sharing a picture of a month-old puppy, Kim explains:
"I picked up this pup up from the pound on Monday. She is too young to have left her mum and was cold, alone and crying in the pound. Fortunately she is allowed to serve the balance of her 7 days with me, otherwise she would not have needed the lethal injection as she wouldn't have survived."
