The future king’s christening will be an intimate affair with only five senior royals attending – the Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, Kate and Wills and Prince Harry. Pippa Middleton and her mum, dad and brother will also be in attendance from Kate’s side of the family.
Kate was looking glam in a cream Alexander McQueen outfit, complete with matching cream fascinator. The heir was matching his mum - dressed in a cute cream lace outfit which was originally designed in 1841 for Queen Victoria's daughter Alexandra, and has been used for every Royal christening since.
Before entering the chapel, William told everyone: "He's all ready. So far so good."
The brooding parents decided to break royal tradition by holding the ceremony at St James’ Palace, as all royal christenings have previously been held at Buckingham Palace.
Prince George, who is now three-months-old, will have seven godparents. They comprise of family friends including a friend of Princess Diana’s and Zara Tindall, the daughter of princess Anne.
This is only the second time we have seen the heir since he was born.
Hundreds of royal supporters have been camped outside the Palace where Prince George was first revealed to the nation in July. They have braved the rain and cold despite the fact they probably won’t be able to get a glimpse of the prince.
Julie Cain, 50, from Newcastle, arrived at 7.30am yesterday morning.
'I couldn't be at the birth so I just wanted to be here. It's tradition, another piece of history in the making, and I just didn't want to miss it. We've been told we won't be seeing much of anything, but at least we can say we were here.'
Following the christening, the Duke and Duchess will serve Christening cake, taken from a tier of their wedding cake, at Clarence House.
