Fifteen pupils at a UK school had to be tested for HIV and hepatitis after being stabbed with a needle by the son of a Premier League footballer and another student.
The two teenagers had apparently found a diabetes pen on a classroom desk and, in what is believed to be a prank gone wrong, began stabbing their fellow pupils with it.
School staff quickly called both public health officials and the police.
Both pupils were expelled over their behaviour.
A school spokesman told The Sun: "We can confirm that an incident took place at the school last month involving a diabetic testing pen.
"The incident was extremely concerning and as soon as we became aware of it all parents of pupils involved were contacted immediately and given the advice received from public health experts.
"We also spoke to the local police who, we understand, have now closed this incident.
"While the risk of infection was low or negligible, children affected were advised to have blood tests all of which proved negative."
A police spokesman said they had been notified about the incident but had taken no further action.
