Pregnant waitress fears losing baby after customer threw boiling hot soup over her

A pregnant waitress is fearing for the life of her unborn child after a customer in the restaurant she worked in threw boiling hot soup over her. It’s claimed the pair had been arguing over drinks when the female customer picked up the bowl of soup and threw it over the waitress – leaving her with burns.

The incident occurred in July and CCTV footage show the horrific moment the customer throws the soup.

The waitress, Dong Xiao Meng, told The People’s Daily the customer had taken two straws from another customers drinks and that she worried the drinks would no longer sell, so asked her to pay for them.

At this point an argument breaks out and the woman stands and throws the soup. As two other members of staff attempt to intervene, the woman simply lobs another bowl of the boiling broth.

The waitress, from Heilongjiang, China, was taken to hospital to be treated for her burns. It’s now believed she has been suffering irregular contractions and her family have claimed she now fears for the health of her unborn baby.

Meng has now been in hospital for over a month and is undergoing further medical examinations.

It’s not known whether the female diner is being invested by local police following the incident.
