The Paralympian, who killed his model girlfriend on Valentine’s Day 2013, was found guilty of Culpable Homicide in 2014, and sentenced to five years in a Pretoria prison.

And just 10 months on from being placed inside the notorious jail, the runner, who lost both his legs below the knee as a child, is set to be released.

Oscar shot and killed Reeva Steenkamp

Despite serving a fraction of his five year sentence, Oscar was recommended for early release by the parole board at Kgosi Mampuru II prison.

According to sources inside the prison, Pistorius has been ‘behaving himself very well’ and so was recommended as a suitable candidate for early release.

But despite the last ten months being over, Pistorius may still yet face a murder charge, as the prosecution are actively campaigning to have his conviction upgraded.

If this happens, Oscar could face a minimum 15-year-sentence for his role in Reeva’s death.

It is thought after his release Pistorius will be put under house arrest at his uncle Arnold’s house in Pretoria, and his travel will be restricted.

Reeva Steenkamp's mother, June, has previously said there will be 'chaos' if Oscar is released early, as people will lose faith in the justice system.

'He blew her brains out' June said in interview, '10 months is not enough.'
