The photo shows a young woman modelling Target’s junior swimsuit range and it looks like the site’s picture editors have gone a bit far with the Photoshop touch-ups, with disastrous results.

It is clear in the photo that editors have tried to Photoshop in a more prominent ‘thigh gap’ between the model’s legs.

The photo has caused the brand to be mocked on the internet as it is plainly obvious that the lifestyle brand has, effectively, Photoshopped out a woman’s crotch.

The position of the bikini bottom makes it obvious that there has been some very sizable edits to the photo.

The photo has shocked many people who visited the site, and people took to the internet to express their concern that Target was seemingly encouraging the dangerous ‘thigh gap’ trend amongst young women.

One angry person wrote under the pictures on Bossip.com: ‘It's not even about her being skinny. It's about that bad photoshop job! Geesh, who's 10y/o kid did they hire?’

Many celebrities have come under fire for encouraging the ‘thigh gap’ trend and there was even a spate of celebrity Instagram selfies showing off measurable thigh gaps.

The photo has since been taken down from Target's website.
