Despite being cleared for early release on the 21st, in order for the bladerunner to serve the rest of his sentence under house arrest, the Justice Minister has intervened to prevent this from happening.
Michael Masutha, head of the South African justice system, has referred the case to the parole review board - meaning the athlete will not be free to leave this week.
