The 27-year-old Sportsman shot his 29-year-old model girlfriend at his home in South Africa.

However the he double amputee and Paralympic sprint champion claims he shot Reeva through a toilet door, mistaking her for an intruder.

He is currently out on bail pending trial, and was seen posing with fans last week, shortly before the one year anniversary of his girlfriend’s death.

Fans Tatum Moodley, 22, and Pegan Trivangalo, 25, met the Paralympian in Johannesburg last week.

"We did not mention the trial and neither did he"

Tatum said: "It was like a dream come true. He's so much more approachable and friendly compared to what I had imagined an international sports star to be like."

"My sister and I had just finished dinner and saw Oscar walk past with two of his friends. I went up to Oscar and nervously asked him for a picture with him.

"He said it would be an honour to take a picture with us and agreed. He was very friendly and polite.

"He was very calm and was not as self-confident as I've known him to be on TV. One word that describes him aptly that night would be, humble."

She added: "We've been supporters of Oscar since 2004. We did not mention the trial and neither did he. We were just grateful for the opportunity to meet our sports hero."
