One woman’s shocking story: ‘My best friend married my rapist’

The unnamed woman , 26, developed post-traumatic stress disorder after Royal Army Medical Corps officer Daniel Howard attacked her.

But even more tragically, Daniel was in fact her best friend’s fiancé.

After telling her pal, April Howard, of her horrific ordeal, her friend shunned her - choosing to go ahead with her wedding to the army officer.

Shockingly, the woman was even supposed to be a bridesmaid at her friend's wedding - something which she could not go through with after the incident.

Despite April turning her back on her close friend, her husband was sentenced to seven years in prison for the attack, which happened following a night out.

He was slammed in court for concocting a ‘ludicrous, cold-blooded and insulting’ story to pin blame on his victim - suggesting she used one of his sex toys to plant DNA evidence on herself.

In another tragic twist to the horrific tale, the woman’s boyfriend also killed himself in the wake of the attack - unable to cope with what had happened.

‘He never forgave himself’ said the woman.
