Nigella Lawson’s’s former aides found not guilty of fraud as dramatic court case concludes

Former aides of troubled TV chef Nigella Lawson have been found not guilty after days of evidence and revelations surrounding the domestic goddess’ private life.

Sisters Francesca and Elisabetta Grillo faced charges of fraud and were alleged to have used their employer’s credit cards to purchase over £685,000 worth of designer goods.

The PAs worked for Nigella and ex-husband Charles Saatchi before their divorce earlier this year.

The jury took eight hours and 52 minutes to clear the sisters’ names and the former Nigella emlployees reportedly appeared relieved by the verdict.

The court case concludes at the end of a turbulent year for the TV chef. She divorced art dealer Charles following the emergence of pictures showing the wealthy businessman allegedly choking her.

The court case also revealed that Nigella had been struggling with a drug problem during the height of her career.

The scandal made headlines across the world and has led to concerns over Nigella’s imminent attempt to break American television.

The chef is reportedly in talks with TV star Oprah to appear in an interview to discuss her problems with drugs.

Hopefully 2014 will bring be less dramatic for the famous foodie.
