Randall Charlton III, 33, and Melissa Becker, 30, are both charged in connection with tattooing and 'disfiguring' a young girl, 12, who was staying at their home.
According to The Titusville Herald (an American newspaper), the victim was visiting their home for a sleepover with her friend - their daughter.
Apparently the girl told her hosts that her mum way okay with her getting a tattoo as long as it was a small one.
Taking her at her word, the couple pulled out their home tattooing kit and proceeded to ink a smiley face and the word "bitch" on the little girl's arm.
The girl's mother was never called or asked if the tattoo was allowed to be placed on the girl's forearm - and, perhaps unsurprisingly, she was very upset when her daughter returned home the next day with it.
Charlton, who is a registered sex offender, was charged with "aggravated assault and endangering the welfare of a minor."
Becker has been charged with "endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of minors, simple assault and tattooing and piercing a minor."
Both will appear in court at a later date.
