Mindy Tran has just locked her front door when she saw that the car had started to roll.

'I knew it was either mine or their [lives],' the American woman told news station WCVB.

She then jumped behind the car to try and change its direction, but she got her legs trapped, becoming essentially a speed bump to slow the car down.

Mindy Tran has had several surgeries on her legs due to the accident

Her neighbours then ran to her aid and were able to stop the car and pull the children to safety.

However Mindy Tran remained trapped under the vehicle, having to wait until emergency services could lift the vehicle off her.

She suffered crush injuries to her legs and dislocated her left leg - meaning she's had to have several surgeries on both.

But the brave mother said she'd do it again in a heatbeat.

'My daughters are my everything.'

'It was all for my kinds. I'm just glad my kids are fine.'
