When her young daughter told her that she was being bullied at school, Tabitha Ann Bennett decided to take matters into her own hands.

But, rather than phone her daughter’s teacher and discuss the matter, she decided instead to encourage the 13-year-old to fight her bully.

According to police, Bennett sent a Facebook message to a 14-year-old girl, telling her that she was bringing her daughter to fight her.

She then drove her daughter to the fight location - and handed her a folding knife.

"The 14-year-old victim advised she thought she was going to die when she saw the defendant with the knife," Detective William Orndorff told ABC News.

The ensuing fight, which was filmed by witnesses and leaked onto social media, saw Bennett shouting and encouraging her daughter to fight, screaming: “Get on top of her” and “kick her ass.”

WPTV.com have said that, at one point, Bennett's daughter appeared to be losing the fight, so Bennett kicked the 14-year-old and pulled her to the ground by her hair.

Her daughter then got on top of the 14-year-old and continued attacking her.

The fight lasted approximately a minute, according to police.

Bennett was arrested and charged with “child abuse, assault and battery offenses.” She was released from jail on Sunday after posting bail amounting to $10,500.
