According to The Mirror, the dressing on his penis reportedly affected his sex life with his wife of eight years - and he was self-conscious about the size of his genitalia.
On the day of the killing, Wenham bought a pay-as-you-go mobile phone from an Argos store and tried to use it to arrange a meeting with a prostitute, the court heard.
The father-of-three then called in sick to his work, before heading out to a shop and purchasing a Stanley knife, disposable gloves and plastic bags.
He then proceeded to meet 25-year-old Karolina Nowikiewicz at her flat in Slough, where the young woman was working as a prostitute to fund her studies.
Alan Blake, the lawyer for the prosecution, told the jury at Reading Crown Court: "The killing was utterly premeditated, planned and clinically executed.
"Attacking her from behind, he sliced open her neck, cutting through her major arteries and her spinal chord."
After the killing, Wenham then showered and called police, before phoning his wife to confess his crime.
He reportedly told her: "Hi, it's me, I've done a stupid thing, I've killed someone, I'm really sorry, I've killed someone."
He begged her not to tell the boys, the court heard.
Despite his crime, Mrs Wenham has stood by her husband, with Blake revealing: “Even after she was told of what had happened she has remained loyal to him stating ‘he has been my rock and I love him’.”
Wenham denies murder but admits manslaughter.
The trial continues.
