Zack Davies, from Flintshire, has been found guilty of attempted murder after attacked an Asian man with a machete.

Davies, 26, followed Dr Sarandev Bhambra, who works as a dentist, into Tesco and launched the vicious attack while shouting “white power”. Davies also said he attacked him “for Lee Rigby” and said Jihadi John was an inspiration.

He attacked Dr Bhambra, 24, with a hammer and a machete, which left him with life changing injuries. The attack – which happened in January – almost severed his left hand.

During the trial the jury heard how Dr Bhambra thought he was going to die during the attack.

Terrified shoppers described how Davies was “hacking” at Dr Bhambra’s head and body.

Sentencing has been adjourned until psychiatric reports come back.
