According to reports, the 23-year-old was determined to break sex records.

So much so that he popped a viagra pill, took his girlfriend down to the beach, and embarked on a marathon sex session.

However the man, who is based in Salerno, southern Italy, later found himself stuck with a permanent erection.

After 48 hours, and in agonising pain, his mother was forced to take him to hospital.

Once doctors had examined the 23-year-old, they discovered that his penis had been ‘blocked up’, causing damage to his organ and urethra.

Ouch.

The condition, known as priapism, is one which often affects men who take the sex drug Viagra - and needs to be treated quickly to prevent permanent damage.

The Daily Star have reported that surgeon Stefano Pecoraro operated on the young man in an attempt to save his penis.

However it remains to be seen whether or not the 23-year-old’s member will need to be amputated.
