David Renney, 54, spotted the cubs playing with each other at a nature reserve in Stockton-on-Tees.
'They are beautiful little things,' he said. 'I could watch them all day. They reminded me of domestic kittens - they are both high-spirited animals.'
The foxes bundle their mother
'All of the cubs had sweet little smiles on their faces. They looked like they really enjoyed their day out in the sun.'
The handyman from Teeside said: 'The female cubs stuck closer to their mum and the males were a bit more independent.'
