Taking to Reddit, the everyday hero explained that they had spotted a man dragging a drunk girl - who didn't speak English very well - away from her friends and towards the door of the club.
They said: "He was very aggressive and was ignoring the significant language barrier between them (her English wasn't good). He was sober. She was drunk.
"I saw that she was very confused and was protesting his attempts to take her away from the bar, so I stepped in and asked if she was ok, spoke in a common language, gave her a hug since she wanted a hug, and told the aggressive guy that I was her friend.
"The look of disappointment and disgust on his face made me sick to my stomach. I realised beyond a doubt that he didn't have her best interests at heart."
They continued: "Once I separated her from him, she kept hugging me and started crying because she couldn't find her friends. She was really upset that the guy was trying to take her to his place, but she wasn't able to say no easily and she was scared. She wasn't steady on her feet which was worrying.
"Once my male friends saw that there was a situation at hand, they sprung into action to make sure that we could find her companions. We eventually located her pals and they were able to get her home safely. She was really intent on giving me her phone number so I was able to text her in the morning and follow up.
"I'm happy to say that she is fine now."
CEE LO GREEN CAUSES OUTRAGE BY TWEETING: 'IT'S ONLY RAPE IF PERSON WAS CONSCIOUS'
It wasn't the fact that a man had attempted to take advantage of a young girl that had left the Reddit user shocked; it was the fact that nobody else had stopped to help her.
And, in sharing her story, the heroic Reddit user hopes that more of us will be willing to step up and help someone in the future.
TEARFUL TEENAGER REVEALS PHOTOS OF HER RAPE WENT VIRAL, 'EVERYBODY KNOWS'
She said: "Everyone, please take care to look around your surroundings as you leave a bar or club. It doesn't cost much to get a drunk person a taxi. 10 minutes out of your day to ensure someone is alright isn't much of an inconvenience. You might really help somebody and may even prevent a crime.
"There are human predators who lurk outside bars to try to take advantage of inebriated people, and that's just awful. We have to watch out for each other. I hope that sharing my experience will help others remember to keep an eye out for drunk people who could use a hand."
