Warm-hearted strangers are raising money to help pay to the funeral costs of a baby boy who died after his parents were evicted from their home. The little boy, known only as Donald, tragically died at just two months old.
His parents were evicted from their rented house and, after struggling to find accommodation, were forced to sleep in their car. Shockingly, Donald, who was born prematurely died shortly afterwards.
The heartbroken parents, who say they now have “nothing to live for”, are now being helped by strangers – along with Claire Matthews, who runs the Hope For Food Soup kitchen in Bournemouth.
“It's good because if we can't bring Donald back, at least we can help his parents,” Claire told the Mirror.
“I strongly believe that if it wasn't for what these organisations did Donald would still be here today. Hopefully this story can help other children who are living in similar situations
“Right now in Bournemouth we have two pregnant girls living on the streets. This shouldn't be happening in this day and age.”
Through a crowd funding, Claire hopes to raise £3000 to help pay for a proper headstone for little Donald.
Claire – who is close to both Donald’s parents – said the pair were “grief stricken”. She added: “They are in a very dark place at the moment, they have nothing to live for now.”
