When Dannii Barham found out she was pregnant at just 15 she was delighted.
Unbeknown to her boyfriend of six months and her mum Jodie, 32, she deliberately stopped using contraception in a bid to become a gymslip mum.
And the teen, who will give birth to a baby girl in November, claims she was inspired to become a young mum by celebrity idols like Kerry Katona and Coleen Rooney who she think make being a mum ‘look easy."
Dannii explains: "Kerry , Beyoncé and Coleen make being a mum look fashionable and cool. I love everything about Kerry and used to watch her TV show. Seeing her with her kids made me think I was ready to be a mum.
"Kerry has always been someone I aspire to be like. Just like my mum, she's bringing up five children, and has done a great job. Who wouldn't want to be like her?"
Dannii adds: "I'm not worried about stretch marks. You never see any celebrities with any and I've got young skin. My friend who is 16 has a baby and I've been helping her change nappies so I've been getting some practice in."
But worried Jodie, who had Dannii aged just 16, knows all too well the hardships of being a young parent.
The unemployed mum-of-five says: “Dannii sees celeb mums looking great and thinks it must be a 'breeze.' But she’s in for a shock. I wish celeb mums would use their fame to say something real, like: 'Girls, this is hard work- live your lives before having kids' instead of making it look like a permanent holiday. Life's not going to be all cute booties and baby showers, she's going to feel exhausted most of the time."
However, Dannii insists: "I can’t wait to dress my gorgeous little girl in pretty things. Having a baby isn’t going to change me. I’ll still dress and act my age.”
