According to court documents, Kenya Harris had gone to Albany Police Department to pick up her son, who had been arrested, and ended up waiting for him for five hours.
She allegedly asked Officer Jenkins how much longer things would take, as she had younger children at home that she had to take care of.
The police officer allegedly said he didn't like her tone, and if she continued he would take her head and "put it to the floor."
Kenya continued to ask how much longer things would take, stressing that she had to return home to care for her smaller children - and, eventually, Jenkins lost his temper.
He grabbed the pregnant mother and slammed her to the ground, causing her to black out.
When she regained consciousness, Kenya found that she was lying on the ground with Jenkins sitting on her, his knee on her arm.
She was then allegedly handcuffed, slammed against a wall and thrown into an interrogation room.
The court documents indicate that Kenya was denied medical attention for her pain and was instead arrested for obstruction of justice.
After being released on bail the next day, Kenya allegedly went to a clinic for her injuries - only to discover that she had suffered a miscarriage.
Kenya Harris is now requesting $50,000 and punitive damages, arguing that the officer caused "her severe physical harm and the loss of her baby, when less force was required and should have been used."
She has also accused him of false imprisonment, assault, intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence and gross negligence.
