The 39-year-old, who has not yet been named, fell from the 33rd floor of JP Morgan’s headquarters during today’s rush hour, and was found on the ninth floor roof of the Canary Wharf building.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at 25 Bank Street just after 8am.
Canary Wharf workers took to Twitter to express their shock at the death.
One tweeted:
“Sad scene. Someone jumped/ fell at JPMorgan Canary Wharf. A sorry view from my desk.”
The bank declined to comment on whether the dead man was an employee, however a company spokeswoman said:

'We are reviewing a very sad incident at 25 Bank Street this morning.'
A London Ambulance Service spokesman said: 'We were called to Bank Street to reports of a person fallen form a height.
'We sent one ambulance crew, a duty officer, our hazardous area response team and London Air Ambulance to the scene.
"Sadly a man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene."
JP Morgan is the world's largest bank by assets.
