Spotted in the 'creative writing' corner of a newspaper, a class of children shared their poetry with the readers.

And most of the the school children's poems are lighthearted- as expected.

Skylar, 8, wrote:

‘Parakeets are loud. On Friday, I take them out. They are so pretty’.

However Gabi, 9, wrote something far more sinister:

‘The fire is red as blood. I watch the flames go up in the air as I taste the sadness of the people whose houses have burnt to the ground.

' I turn back, but all I hear is the bursting and explosion of flames.’

Comedian Gabi Fero made light of the situation, tweeting the poem with the words, ‘Gabi took it up a notch.’

However others voiced more concern, replying: 'Someone needs to keep an eye on that kid'.
