Gary Glitter has been found guilty of numerous sex crimes against children- including the attempted rape of an 8-year-old girl.

The former pop star- who’s real name is Paul Gadd- was found guilty of one count of attempted rape, four counts of indecent assault and one count of sexual intercourse with a girl under the age of 13.

Glitter, 70, was then acquitted of two counts of sexual assault and one count of administering alcohol with intent to enable unlawful sexual intercourse.

According to reports, Glitter was seen shaking his head as the verdict was read out by a judge at Southwark crown court.

Shockingly, the convicted paedophile was reportedly blowing kisses as he was taken into custody.

Glitter may return to court following news that further allegations have been made against him.

A spokes person for the Metropolitan Police said: “Officers have received other information and it currently being assessed."

Glitter was convicted of sex offences as far back as 1999 when he plead guilty to downloading child pornography.

He was then deported from Cambodia after he was suspected of abusing children in 2002.

Following on from this Glitter served three years in jail for reported abuse of two young girls.
