Jaxon Taylor, 1, was travelling with his mother and nine year old sister when they collided with another vehicle at 70mph.

Taylor was internally decapitated in the horrific crash - where his head was pulled apart from his neck.

But incredibly, doctors in Brisbane, Australia, were able to reconnect his head to his body during a six hour surgery.

Spinal surgeon Dr Askin attached a ‘halo’ device to Jackson’s skull, holding him completely still while reattaching his spine using a piece of wire.

They then took a piece of the toddler’s rib to graft the two pieces together.

Speaking of the medical first, Dr Askin said many children would not have survived the injury, let alone go onto move and breathe on their own.

In eight weeks, Jaxon’s halo device will be removed, when he will hopefully be healed and ready to go on with a healthy and normal life.

Mother Ryela, 30, said ‘It was a miracle,’ while dad Andrew added: ‘They have taken two broken kids and put them back together. We’re very, very thankful.’

Jaxon’s sister Shayne, 9, underwent surgery for internal bleeding, and will need to stay in a body frame for either weeks while her body heals.

What a lucky escape this family had, eh!
