Ming the Siamese cat was bought by the Alexander family in Australia back in 2000.
The cat soon became well known in the neighbourhood, but the family would regularly report their feline friend as missing.
Efforts to keep the cat from straying (such as micro-chipping and buying a collar) appeared to be useless, with Ming continuing to go on long, drawn out adventures away from home.
In 2010, Ming failed to return to the Alexander’s house, causing the family to fear the worse.
Miraculously, however, the clever kitty returned home four years later looking happy and healthy.
According to the Alexander family, Ming had been living with a woman called Glenda Smith, where she was known as Cleo.
The mystery was solved: Ming/Cleo was living a double life.
Now, the two families are warring over who the sneaky cat belongs to, with local police reportedly getting involved.
Something tells us this won’t be a dispute that will be settled easily!
Ming/Cleo will almost certainly have the last say…
