In the small space of a couple of weeks, we’ve all had to swap bare legs for our trusty tights, sunglasses for bobble hats and bomber jackets for comfy coats. There’s definitely a chill in the air and it’s set to get even chillier this weekend.

So chilly that the prospect of SNOW is on the horizon. Yep, you read that right.

There have been reports predicting a dramatic drop in temperature for a while, with forecasters even predicting that this winter may just be the worst in SIX YEARS.

And it looks like we're getting the brunt of it this weekend.

England snow fall

Weather forecasters say temperatures will take a tumble over the next couple of days with even the risk of a flurry of sleet or snow over high ground during Saturday and Sunday.

Tempertaures in Scotland and Northern England could even dip as low as single figures - with some parts close to freezing.

The rest of England will experience a huge slaught of rain and high winds.

Exacta Weather's James Madden said: "A quiet weather picture through the start of this week has been due to high pressure anchored across our shores.

"A more unsettled spell of weather later in the week will coincide with some chilly easterly and north-easterly winds potentially bringing wintry showers across higher ground in parts of the north at times this weekend and into next week."

Eeeeeeeek.
