One of the six singles who agreed to tie the knot with a total stranger for Married at First Sight, a new reality series, didn't quite get the wedding of her dreams.

During the premiere episode of the show, Jamie Otis - who was a contestant on Ben Flajnik's season of The Bachelor in 2012 - was paired with software salesman Doug Hehner.

Before ceremony, she seemed hopeful about finding "true love" through the experiment. But, judging by her voiceover, her hopes changed when she began the long walk down the aisle.

She said: "This is the worst feeling. Obviously I wasn't like, 'What a knockout!'

"I couldn't help but look at his family, because they were, like, beaming, huge smiles, looking at me, and I just happen to be not attracted to the guy."

However her new husband wasn't phased by her reaction, saying: "She was freaking out. And it seems like she doesn't know what's going on.

"It was a tense moment."

But it seems as if 'tense' was an understatement; when it came to peddling her love to a complete stranger, jamie struggled to hold back her tears.

"I'm getting married right now to someone I don't know," her voiceover said.

"I'm thinking I just made the worst decision of my life. I am so scared."

Billed as an 'extreme social experiment,' the show will follow the stories of three newlywed couples paired up by four experts.

All applicants for 'Married At First Sight' were evaluated by a sexologist, a spiritualist, a psychologist and a sociologist, who narrowed down hundreds of possible matches to create three perfect couples based on scientific matchmaking.

The spouses know nothing about each other — even their names — until they walk down the aisle in the premiere. The next nine episodes follow the newlyweds as they live together for four weeks — after which they have to decide whether to remain married or get a divorce.
