The 32-year-old put icing pen to cake so to speak, and penned a tasty letter for his then-employers on a personalised cake.
The touching message explains that he has recently become a first time father, and realised life is too precious not to pursue his dreams. He goes on to explain he plans to devote his time to his family, and his booming cake business.
Dated 15th April 2013, the letter reads:
"To The Management, Border Force, Stanstead:
"Today is my 31st birthday, and having recently become a father I now realise how precious life is and how important it is to spend my time doing something that makes me, and other people happy.
"For that reason I hereby give notice of my resignation, in order that I may devote my time and energy to my family, and to my cake business which has grown steadily over the past few years.
"I wish the organisation and my colleagues the best for the future and I remind you that, if you enjoy this cake, you can oder more at www.mr.cake.co.uk.
"Sincerely, Chris Homes (Mr Cake)"
We're guessing 'Mr Cake' will be getting a good reference after that exit. We're hungry now.
