Kimberly Gordon was still in the womb when her mother was hit by a lightening bolt in New Mexico, forcing her to have an emergency C-Section.

After surviving the ordeal, Kimberly was left with neurological damage, plus permanently static hair, causing her parents to call her their 'little Flash Gordon.'

Her father, Ian Gordon, told ABC news that his girlfriend Kendra was just two weeks away from her due date when the couple were hit by the bolt of lightening.

The thunderbolt went through Gordon's ear, blowing his eardrum, before jumping to Kendra's body and leaving through her thumb.

After the incident, Kendra was induced and gave birth to Kimberley through C-Section. Sadly, Kimberley still can't sit up, crawl or digest food properly - and doctor's are puzzled as to why her hair is still standing on end.

But despite their ordeal, the Gordon family remain remarkably positive about the future - saying that they will just play it by ear as they try to get their little one better.

'Somebody's definitely watching out for us' says Ian, who hopes that Kimberly will 'run fast, or save the universe.'
