It's April 1, which meant a morning of looking at everything through skeptical eyes, desperately trying to work out what was real and what was a lie.

It was tricky. But, despite desperately trying not to be made a fool of, we actually really enjoyed ourselves.

Here's a few of our favourite fake-outs and pranks from the day…

1. Mark Wright put his mobile number on Twitter… or did he?

… he didn't.

2. Sheridan Smith announced that she was engaged…

… she wasn't.

3. Lord Alan Sugar assured us he'd discovered the first ever nail file to file in one direction…

… he hadn't. And we're not really sure what the joke was here, either - anyone care to enlighten us?

4. Dawn O'Porter kept things simple…

5. Gary Lineker said that he would be inviting celebrities onto Match Of The Day…

… he lied.

6. Google unleashed Pokemon into the world - and challenged us to "catch them all"

All fake, we're afraid.

7. Samsung vowed to turn pigeons into Wi-Fi routers

Yup, you got it. Fly-Fi ain't happening any time soon.

... thank goodness that's not real. We just can't stomach the idea of sausages and ice cream in one bowl!

9. Sainsburys invented a new no-butter-side-down bread slicing technique...

****Sadly it wasn't to be.
